Hello, I am Erin. I am a Resident in Counseling. After a decade of working in corporate management positions, I decided to change my career path to be in more purposeful service to others. Inspired by personal and familial tragedies of domestic violence and abuse, I attained a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern New Hampshire University. My clinical experience includes working with depression, grief, anxiety, PTSD, self-esteem, anger management, and agoraphobia while completing dialectical behavior therapy certification. My areas of interest are domestic violence and sexual abuse, but I enjoy working with individuals to navigate the personal challenges of life. My personal motivation is helping clients determine and define their strengths to use as tools to overcome challenges.
I have an eclectic approach to counseling. I utilize various theoretical approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness strategies, and Person-Centered therapy while intertwining multicultural concepts into each case. I believe one’s culture impacts interactions and behaviors with others as well as enhance and express individual strengths. I strive to create a safe therapeutic environment built upon trust. My objective is to collaborate with a client to craft a path of healing, growth, and actualization.
Some fun facts about me. My father is retired military, so I have lived in various places, Alaska is my favorite. I am originally from Pennsylvania. I am an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Philadelphia 76ers fan, and I cheer for the Pirates, Phillies, and Penn State football. Game nights with my family, great food, relaxing music, a good book, and spoiling my Australian shepherd, Creed are my happiest moments.
